Needless to say, this eight-goal thriller was action-packed. They shared 39 shot attempts, with 15 of them being on target.

The away side, Gremio, got off to the better start, having taken a two-goal - thanks to strikes from de Souza and Cristaldo in the 21st and 27th minutes, respectively.

However, Corinthians turned the match on its head as the first half drew to a close. In the 45th minute, they pulled one back through a Romeu penalty. Then, they scored two more in added-on time (45+4 and 45+6) to go in at the break 3 - 2 ahead.

Corinthians struck back through Paula in the 67th minute to make it 4 - 4, which amazingly is how it finished despite there being a quarter of the match still to play.
