Drake Places $248K Bet on Nate Diaz to Beat Jake Paul

The tale of the tape (on Diaz’s side) doesn’t tell us much, as this is his debut in the boxing ring. That said, he earned a reputation in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as one of the better boxers in the octagon. Of course, MMA boxing and real boxing are two different things, so it’ll be interesting to see how he makes the transition.

As for Paul, this will be the 8th time he steps through the ropes. His record stands at 7-1, with his only loss coming in his last fight against Tommy Fury. No disrespect to Nate, but on paper, this is a step down in class from Fury, which is why the bookmakers have The Problem Child as the favorite.

Another revealing fact, which puts pressure on Drake’s bet, is Diaz fought most of his UFC fights at lightweight (155lb). Although it is well known that UFC fighters cut a lot of weight, I’m certain there will be a noticeable size difference when they face each other in the ring. 

Will the extra power that Paul should have in his arsenal be the deciding factor? Nate is a durable fighter, however. He can absorb punishment like few others. Moreover, he has stamina. Throughout his career, Diaz has often finished fights stronger than he started them. This all creates many intriguing permutations.
