Monaco vs Paris Game 4 Preview

Monaco managed to escape a very difficult situation in Game 3, securing an 81:78 victory to cut the series deficit to 2-1.

Another game at Salle Gaston Medecin awaits, where the hosts will try to force a decisive Game 5, while Paris aim to win their first-ever French championship title.

Monaco Form & Team News

Monaco were on the brink of elimination and losing their domestic championship crown, but thanks to great effort and persistence in the second half of Game 3, they managed to turn things around and stay alive.

Once again, the game followed a familiar pattern, just like the previous two. Paris were scoring from all over the floor, while Monaco struggled to find open looks and had a hard time converting their chances.

It seemed like the same scenario would repeat itself, but fortunately for the hosts, Elie Okobo stepped up. The French guard orchestrated the team brilliantly and delivered a double-double performance with 17 points and 10 assists. Still, the undisputed hero of the game was someone else.

Jaron Blossomgame played one of his best games since joining Monaco — and what a time to do it. The reliable forward not only made his usual strong contribution on defense but also scored a game-high 26 points in just 27 minutes on the court.

Aside from those two, only Jordan Loyd reached double digits in scoring, finishing the game with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Paris Form & Team News

There’s plenty of reason for regret in the Paris camp. They had the chance to celebrate their first-ever championship title on Friday and head into a well-deserved break — but now they’ll have to fight even harder to reach that goal.

Paris practically had everything in their hands. The first half was completely under their control right from the tip-off. Just three minutes into the game, they had already built a 12-point lead, which they carried into halftime.

However, early in the second half, it became clear that their energy and shooting precision had started to fade. The hosts gradually chipped away at the lead, and with a big 14–5 run in the second part of the third quarter, they completely turned the game around.

Paris still had a chance to bring the game to a close finish, but T.J. Shorts made a few costly mistakes and was eventually ejected, becoming the unfortunate figure of the match.

Overall, it was a night to forget for both Shorts and Hifi. The dynamic Paris backcourt duo combined for a dreadful 11-for-35 shooting from the field. On a more positive note, Mikael Jantunen delivered a solid performance with 13 points and 9 rebounds.

Head to Head

This was Monaco’s third win over Paris this season in seven head-to-head matchups.

Verdict

Without Mike James and Daniel Theis, Monaco just don’t have enough firepower to keep up with Paris in an up-tempo, run-and-gun game.

That’s why their path to success is pretty clear — slow things down and play tough, focused defense on Paris’ main scoring duo. I’m expecting another tight game with a lower score.
