Manchester United were held by Manchester City in their last league game as the pair shared the points in a drab 0-0 draw.

Victory means the Magpies sit in fifth in the league with 53 points. Newcastle are level with Chelsea in fourth with a game in hand as the race for Champions League football heats up. Newcastle can actually move to within a point of third-placed Nottingham Forest with a win in their game in hand. 

The Magpies have beaten their opponents in four of their last five, while they have won their last two on their own patch. I back them to secure an important win as they improve their hopes of a top-four finish. 

Manchester United Form


Manchester United could not break Manchester City down in a Manchester derby that failed to live up to the hype.  

The 0-0 draw helped neither side, with City losing ground on the top places, while United still languish in the bottom-half of the table after 31 games. 

Their woeful campaign has seen United win just four of their 15 away from home, while they have lost six times. Defeat to Nottingham Forest in their last away game shows they are well below the required standard to beat the better sides away from home. I predict another loss on the road this weekend.
