What is the Uno-Lite Game at Goated.com Casino?

Uno is arguably the most well-known and popular card game in existence. Its simple rules, mixed with strategic gameplay, bring fun and enjoyment across all generations. Now, Goated.com has created a world-first Uno casino game.

Uno-Lite is the first of three titles that will be released as a part of this series. The other two are Uno Classic casino game and Uno-Duel, which will allow players to play against each other in real-time.

The Lite version only uses two colors: red and blue. However, there are still skip and change color cards, as well as the legendary Uno reverse card.

How to Play Uno Casino Game

Whether you want to play for fun or real money, the steps are the same.

Launch Uno

Log into your account. From the menu, hit Uno. This takes you to the lobby area. Click Play Now on Uno-Lite to launch the game.

Enter Bet Amount

In the Bet Amount box, enter the amount you want to wager. Leave the box empty if you want to play for fun. When you are done, click the yellow Bet button to start.

Play Uno Lite

The game starts with the player being dealt three cards (face up) and the same number to the Goated AI, which are face down.
One further card is taken from the pile and placed in the middle of the table; this is the starting card
Either the player or the AI is randomly chosen to play first.
Lay one of your cards down to the discard pile, or pick one from the other pile.
When you cannot lay down any more cards, it switches to the other player.
The first one (player or AI) to get rid of all their cards is the winner.
The payout is even money (2.00x).
Click Bet again to start a new game.

Goated Uno Casino Game Rules

With this game being based on Uno, most players will be familiar with the rules, although there are a few minor modifications with this casino variant.

The game cards are Red and Blue (1 - 6), skip, reverse, and change color
Only three cards are dealt to each hand (at the start of the game)
When it is the player’s turn, they must put a card down from their hand or take one from the pile and then put one down (if they are able to)
If you cannot put a matching color or number card, and you don’t have any special cards, you must take one from the pile
After playing the skip and reverse cards, it is the same player’s turn again
You cannot put multiple cards on a single turn

Uno Casino Game UI and Features

There isn’t much to write about in this Uno casino game guide regarding the features because the design is on the minimalistic side. I find this perfect, though. The attraction is playing casino Uno with smooth gameplay, and Goated has achieved that.

Having tried this game on multiple devices, including a laptop, tablet, and smartphone, the display and features are the same for each; these include:

Uno Casino Game Strategy and RTP

The Return to Player (RTP) of Uno-Lite at Goated is 98.50%. At first, I wondered how this could be given there are no special rules that favor the casino’s AI player.

However, after playing several hundred rounds, I noticed that the AI gets to play first more often than I. This is where the casino’s slight edge comes from because the odds of you winning with only 3 cards are dramatically increased by going first.

That said, I still have some Uno casino game strategies that are worth considering.

Use Skip and Reverse Immediately: In the physical Uno game, players tend to hold onto their power cards, but it’s different when playing heads up. Play these cards when you have them in your hand because it gives you another turn before the AI can go.

Watch When the AI Draws: If the top color in the discard pile is red, and the AI draws a card but doesn’t put one down, you know that it is holding all blue cards. Try to use this to your advantage by keeping the color red.

Change Color or Not?: It’s always tempting to change the color when using the Change Color card, but you don’t have to. Also, remember that although this is a special card, it doesn’t give you another turn. Once you play this card and choose a color, it’s the AI’s turn to go.

Don’t Take Cards (if you don’t have to): I tried a strategy of taking cards from the pile even though I had one that I could have played. It rarely worked out in my favor. When you are only starting with three cards, there is no time to collect cards. Simply try to get rid of them as quickly as possible.
