UFC 320 Magomed Ankalaev vs. Alex Pereira 2 Prediction

Alex Pereira has a chance to reclaim the UFC Light Heavyweight title this weekend as he faces the man who beat him at UFC 313, Magomed Ankalaev.

Will this rematch go the same way as their first fight, with a convincing Ankalaev win, or can Pereira turn the tide?

UFC 320 predictions - Ankalaev v Pereira

It often happens when a striker faces a wrestler that the former doesn’t let their hands go as much due to the constant fear of being taken down. That’s essentially what we saw in the first fight. However, Pereira has since claimed that he only performed at 40% at UFC 313, but this time, he’s ready.

Ankalaev’s greatest strength is his wrestling and grappling, but he is also a skilled striker. He landed 30 more strikes the last time they thought, which surprised many of us.

Another tick in Ankalaev’s box is his high-pressure fighting style and cardio. He is relentlessly in your face, and Pereira simply didn’t have the answers in their last bout.

Where Pereira has the edge is his brutal knockout power. He can finish any fight with one shot, so Ankalaev will need to stay active, mix up his levels, and avoid being hit with any clean shots, particularly in the early rounds.

The team at HugeStakes.com predicts Magomed Ankalaev will retain the title via unanimous decision, which doesn’t bode well for the $50,000 prize pool. He will impose wrestling again, control transitions, and neutralize Pereira’s best weapons.

If Pereira wants to upset the logic, he must let his hands go without fearing the takedown. As the challenger, the onus is on him to win the fight, not merely survive for five rounds.

UFC 320 Merab Dvalishvili vs. Cory Sandhagen Prediction

Merab Dvalishvili comes into the co-main event at UFC 320 on a 13-fight win streak. He’s already defended the Bantamweight title twice this year, with victories over Umar Nurmagomedov and, most recently, Sean O’Malley.

Dvalishvili is known for his relentless pressure and strong wrestling pedigree. He also claims that he’s been sharpening his striking skills ahead of this fight.

Cory Sandhagen comes to the octagon with a dangerous array of striking tools, excellent counter-timing, and unorthodox movement. Of course, most fight fans would say the same about O’Malley, but Merab easily beat him twice.

We have a similar scenario in this fight as Ankalaev vs Pereira. Sandhagen is the better striker, but Dvalishvili brings pressure and consistently poses a threat of takedowns. Unfortunately for Cory’s fans, it’s difficult to see how Sandhagen wins this fight.

Our prediction is a win for Merab Dvalishvili. It wouldn’t surprise us if he gets a submission in rounds 3 or 4. Failing that, it will be a unanimous decision on the judge’s scorecards.
