NoLimit City Double Trouble FAQs

Four of Nolimit City's best-known slots just got their max win caps doubled, and the new versions are only on Stake.

Mental 2, Fire in the Hole 3, Duck Hunters and Seamen each get a Double Trouble edition, which are all live at Stake Casino until December 31, 2027.

It’s no surprise that Mental 2 grabs the headlines. Its max win jumps from 99,999x to 199,998x your bet. Wagers on all four also count twice toward your VIP level.

How Stake's Double Trouble Promotion Works

Double Trouble isn't a wager race or a prize draw. There's no leaderboard to contend with. All you have to do is play your favorite slot and go for the Double Trouble max win.

More Nolimit titles will get the same treatment in the coming weeks, so we’ll update you when these are launched.

Double Trouble Max Wins Compared

Even Seamen, the smallest of the four, now offers a potential payout of 40,000x, which is more than most other slot games. The table shows each game's old and new maximum win limit, plus the Double Trouble RTP list.

Game	Standard max win	Double Trouble max win	Double Trouble RTP
Mental 2	99,999x	198,998x	96.02%
Fire in the Hole 3	70,000x	140,000x	96.06%
Duck Hunters	30,000x	60,000x	96.09%
Seamen	20,000x	40,00x	96.07%

In real money terms, a $1 spin on Mental 2 Double Trouble can now pay up to $199,998.

What 2x VIP Progression Means

In addition to the revamped max win, Stake is also offering 2x VIP progression on all Double Trouble slots. Currently, slot games earn 1 VIP point per $1 bet. However, players get 2 VIP points for every dollar wagered on these games.

So a $500 session on Seamen Double Trouble moves your VIP progress bar by $1,000. That quickly accelerates your progress, especially during the early levels, where you only need 10,000 points to reach Bronze and 50,000 points to level up to Silver VIP.

The Double Trouble Games

All four originals came out in 2025, and they all lean high risk, some harder than others.

Mental 2 Double Trouble

Mental 2 picks up where Nolimit's 2021 asylum slot left off, and it's even nastier. The theme is graphic, so give it a miss if horror isn't your thing.

Under the gore, it's a 108-ways game on a 3-2-3-2-3 layout. Fire Frames and Fire Reels split symbols to create extra win ways, and Enhancer Cells under the middle reels drop in wilds and xWays. Dead Patient symbols can reveal multipliers as high as 9,999x.

The biggest hits tend to land in the three free spins rounds: Bloodletting, Surgery and ExperiMENTAL Spins. If max win hunting is your thing, start here.

Fire in the Hole 3 Double Trouble

NoLimit's whiskey-loving dwarf is back, this time trapped in a frozen mine. Fire in the Hole 3 plays on six reels and starts with three rows, unlocking another with every win.

Ways to win range from 64 to 46,656, depending on how much of the grid is open. Detonator wilds blow up nearby symbols and raise the win multiplier, and ice blocks can hide multipliers up to 100x.

Lucky Wagon Spins is the bonus to chase. It's a coin-collect round where every new coin resets your spins to three, and enhancers boost, collect or re-trigger the coins already on the board. For our money, it's the deepest bonus of the four.

Duck Hunters Double Trouble

Duck Hunters is NoLimit at its silliest. Think beer cans, crossbows, a rifle-toting duck and a backyard full of rednecks.

It's also the easiest of the four to pick up. You need 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6x5 grid, and every win leaves a multiplier on the spots it cleared. Land another win on the same spot and it doubles, all the way to 8,192x.

Three free spins rounds keep those multipliers in place instead of resetting them, which is where things get loud. At 60,000x, this version also beats the newer Duck Hunters 2, which stops at 40,000x.

Seamen Double Trouble

Seamen is peak Nolimit innuendo, set aboard a ship called the White Pearl with a crew of very friendly sailors. It runs on a 3-5-5-3 grid with 225 ways to win.

Every win triggers a respin, and each respin bumps the multiplier on winning positions by 1. Fire Frames, wilds and three types of bombs push those numbers higher, and a single Coconut Bomb can add up to 100.

Three Skull Bonus symbols land you in Rigged Spins, and four get you Super Rigged Spins with extra Fire Frames. It's the only game here rated high rather than extreme volatility, so pick it if you want a slightly calmer ride. Its 40,000x cap also beats the 30,000x on the sequel, Soaked by Seamen.

How to Play the Double Trouble Slots on Stake

Getting started takes a minute, but there's one trap to avoid when you search.

Log in to your Stake account, or sign up if you're new.
Open the Casino lobby and select Only on Stake from the menu.
Click Publishers and check NoLimit City. This reveals the Double Trouble slots.
Pick your favorite slot and start playing.

Is Double Trouble Worth Playing?

If you already play Nolimit City slots on Stake, this promotion has some real value. The Double Trouble RTPs sit within 0.04 percentage points of the originals' published figures, and you get the bigger cap and VIP boost too.

The risk doesn't change. These highly volatile games can go a long time between big hits, and a higher max payouts won't bring those hits any sooner. Set a budget before you start and stick to it.
