- Newcastle Form
Newcastle can solidify their hopes of securing Champions League football by securing yet another win in the league.
- Aston Villa have drawn seven of their 16 home games this season
- Villa have scored in each of their last eight league games
- Newcastle have hit the back of the net in their last four in the league
Head To Head
Newcastle have won five of their last 10 against Villa, with the latter winning three times and two games ending as draws.
Aston Villa Form
Aston Villa’s Premier League season has been an impressive one, with the side winning 15 of their 32 matches.
Their run means they have a big chance to secure European football for next season. They are also within striking distance of the Champions League spots too. A win in this one would move Villa onto 57 points, and it would heighten the pressure on Newcastle, Manchester City and Chelsea.
While Villa have home advantage in this one, their record against Newcastle is not great. A point would keep them in the race for a top-four spot. With seven draws in 16 home games, I am backing Villa to notch a tie in this one.
Newcastle Form
Newcastle have been superb this season, and they are just a few wins away from returning to the Champions League after missing out this season.
The Magpies have the third best away record in the league, winning eight of their 16 matches on the road and securing 27 points. They also arrive for this match having won their last two away from home.
Newcastle have been strong on the road this season, but they will not find an opponent that will simply let them stroll to the win. Instead, I back Newcastle and Aston Villa to cancel each other out in an entertaining tie.
Verdict
I am backing the points to be shared at Villa Park as both goals are breached.
