Delhi Capitals are looking to bounce back after a shock 12-run loss to Mumbai Indians at the weekend.

Rajasthan Royals were humbled in a nine-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore as their poor start to the season continued. 

  • DC have won four of their five IPL matches in 2025

DC have won six of their last 10 against their opponents, with RR winning the other four.

Delhi Capitals have been enjoying an excellent start to the IPL season, winning four of their opening five and taking a hold on one of the much sought-after top-four spots. 

Their only defeat of the season so far saw them lose by 12-runs to Mumbai Indians in a match in which nobody bar Karun Nair (89 from 40) really stood up with the bat for DC. Their first defeat of the season was a major disappointment, especially as it came against a side that had won one of their opening five before that triumph. 

Now, DC know they need to show the qualities that an IPL winning side rely on. A win in this one over their misfiring opponents would get them right back on track, and I back them to consign RR to a fifth loss in seven games. 

Rajasthan Royals Form 


Rajasthan Royals’ season is threatening to descend into chaos after they were forced to stomach a fourth defeat in their opening six. 

Last season, RR lost five of their 14 regular season games, while they have lost four of their six so far. This season will almost certainly see them lose more matches than they did in 2024, but the worry is that they do not look like bouncing back.

A two-game winning run was immediately followed by two defeats. With one of the form teams in the IPL to come, I back RR to slip to a third consecutive loss and a fifth defeat in seven. 

Verdict

I am backing DC to get back to winning ways as they consign RR to another damaging loss.
