Iga Swiatek continued her domination of the French Open in the women's game last year as she secured her third consecutive trophy at the tournament. In 2024, Swiatek secured the trophy in a thrilling 6-3 2-6 7-5 win over Aryna Sabalenka.

This year, both Swiatek and Sabalenka arrive as the most likely to secure the trophy. Swiatek is looking to secure a fourth consecutive crown at the French Open, while Sabalenka is chasing her fourth Grand Slam crown after securing her third at the US Open in 2024.

Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva are the most likely candidates to stun the top two according to the betting, with Madison Keys and Qinwen Zheng also in contention.

The beauty in the women's game right now is that nobody is able to consistently dominate over the course of a year. While Swiatek has won three successive French Open titles, she was not able to win another Slam in 2024. Indeed, since her winning run at Roland Garros began back in 2022, Swiatek has only won one other Slam with this coming at the US Open back in 2022.

Last year, Sabalenka won the Australian Open and US Open, Swiatek won in France and Barbora Krejcikova won at Wimbledon.

This simply means there may be good value to be found in some of the candidates outside of the top options.

It is worth bearing in mind that while Swiatek has often seen arriving as favourite end in a disappointing campaign, at Roland Garros, she has excelled.

Who do you think will win the French Open title in 2025? Can Swiatek make it four consecutive wins at Roland Garros, or will another player end her run?
