The Indian Premier League has established itself as the biggest and most popular domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in the world, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

The 2025 season is at the playoff stage, with the best sides in India fighting for runs, wickets and points in what is already proving to be a competitive and unpredictable tournament once again.

Check out the table below to see which team is the favourite to win the IPL trophy in 2025.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have flirted with the idea of winning the IPL recently, but they have always been too inconsistent to secure the trophy in such a competitive format.

However, the bookies make them one of the sides to back this season alongside the likes of the Punjab Kings. The pair are available at 2.75 in the betting after finishing the regular season at the summit.

The two sides will battle in the first Qualifier to see which will move straight into the final. The loser of this match will take on the winner of the eliminator, with Mumbai Indians (4.33) and Gujarat Titans (8.50) battling for a place in the second qualifier.

Last season's champions Kolkata Knight Riders were left stunned as they finished in eighth, four points short of MI in fourth. Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were runners-up in 2024, finished in sixth. For the sides that excelled last year, 2025 proved too much for them as they failed to take a playoff berth.

Topping the table at the end of the regular season is one thing, but winning the trophy is another. Many sides have been able to secure top spot in the group-stage, but they have struggled across the playoff section of the campaign.

At the end of the season, the top two sides battle in a qualifier, with the winner going straight to the final. The loser of the qualifier faces the winner of the first eliminator between the sides finishing in third and fourth. The victor of the second eliminator heads into the grand final to battle for the trophy.

While the teams finishing in first and second have two bites of the cherry when it comes to trying to make the final, the number of high pressure matches on offer can see teams crumble.

Will this prove to be RCB's season as they come good on finishing second in the table? Or will another of the side be left standing at the end of a long and arduous IPL season?
