- Head To Head
- Ecuador Form
- Brazil Form
Brazil can leapfrog Ecuador in the table if they are able to secure a win on the road in midweek.
- Ecuador are yet to lose at home in qualifying (W5, D2)
- Brazil have lost four of their seven on the road (W2, D1)
Head To Head
Brazil have won six of their last 10 against Ecuador, with the other four ending as draws.
Ecuador Form
Despite having to battle in a World Cup Qualifying group that is stacked with world class talent, Ecuador are more than holding their own, with the nation currently sitting in second on the ladder.
Their seven wins have come alongside five draws and two defeats, with Ecuador two points ahead of Brazil and nine clear of Bolivia in eighth. Heading into this match, Ecuador boast a seven-game unbeaten run that includes four wins.
However, their last defeat came at the hands of their next opponents. With a superb home record that has seen them win five of their seven and draw the other two, I back Ecuador to avoid defeat in this one as they take advantage of the sketchy away form of their opponents.
Brazil Form
Brazil currently sit in fourth in World Cup Qualifying after winning six of their 14 outings with 21 points allowing them to boast a seven point lead over Bolivia in eighth.
With four matches to come, Brazil can still finish at the summit, but this is very unlikely as they would need Argentina to fail to win any of their final four. However, second place is within reach, and Brazil can move above Ecuador if they win this match.
While Brazil will be raring to go as they look to bounce back from their 4-1 loss to Argentina in their last game, I predict they will struggle. Brazil have lost four of their seven on the road which includes three defeats in their last five. Having failed to win in four of their last five away from home, I am backing against Brazil winning this game.
Verdict
I am backing Ecuador-Draw in the double chance market as the home side take advantage of the patchy away form of their opponents.
