England arrive for their Test series against India on the back of a comfortable win by an innings and 45 runs over Zimbabwe.

India have not played a Test match since they were beaten by six wickets in the fifth and final Test against Australia back in January.

Head To Head
India have won six of their last 10 Tests against England, with the latter winning three times and one game ending as a draw.
England Form
England have looked to mark 2025 as their return to the upper-echelons of the game after seeing their sides across all three formats slip.
Their 6-0 aggregate win over the West Indies across three T20's and three ODI's has seen the English begin the summer well, while they hammered Zimbabwe by an innings and 45 runs in their only Test of the year to date.
However, far better opponents await them in the longest and most unforgiving of the three formats. Their win over Zimbabwe saw England bat and bowl well, but they will come up against a touring side that always turns up to play the English.
Ben Duckett has continued to be a thorn in the side of England's opponents across all three formats. While he has only played a single Test this year, he is averaging 140.00. This has helped to plump his overall average up to 41.55. His love for feeling bat on ball means that he scores quickly when he can get himself in. India will target his propensity to play shots as they look to find the edge, but Duckett will fancy himself after starring across the T20 and ODI games for England.
India Form
India's tour of England provides an incredibly interesting and important contest as the side look to build after losing stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with both retiring from the Test match game.
Losing either Sharma or Kohli would be major, so to lose both will almost certainly leave a void that takes some time to fill, if it can be filled at all. Sai Sudharsan starred for the Gujarat Titans across the IPL, and he can score quick runs if he is selected, meaning he may yet be a star of tomorrow. Jasprit Bumrah will provide the main threat with the ball as he continues to torment batsmen across the formats.
While I back Bumrah to star as he continues to better his brilliant average of just 19.40 in Test cricket, I back the travelling side to slip to defeat in their opening match. I do predict that this series will be very competitive, but the touring side will have to come from behind to level things up.
Verdict
I am backing Duckett to notch a fifty for England in a winning cause as Bumrah does all he can with the ball for the touring side.
