UFC 312 - When and Where?
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Australia for this rematch between South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis and the US’s Sean Strickland.
It will take place at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on Sunday, the 9th of February, 2025. The reason for this event being held on Sunday is because of the 16-hour time difference between Sydney, Australia and Eastern Time in the United States.
The main card is scheduled to start at 2 PM local time, which is 10 PM prime time on the Eastern side of the US.

Du Plessis vs Strickland Betting Odds
Unsurprisingly, the sportsbooks are favoring Du Plessis to retain his crown. Given the current prices, they (the bookies) are confident he will do so quite easily.
In the two-way Winner market, DDP is priced at 1.50 on Stake.com, with Strictland’s odds out at 2.65.

With a record of 29 and 6, it is fair to say that Sean Strickland has had an up-and-down UFC career. Clearly, at the time of writing, his highest point came when he shocked the world by beating middleweight king Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 to win the title.
However, he dropped the belt on his first defence when he lost to Du Plessis at UFC 297. The fight went to the judge’s scorecards, with DDP winning by a split decision. After losing the strap, Strickland defeated Paulo Costa at UFC 302, again via a split decision, to regain his number one contender status and set up this rematch.
Du Plessis has been on a tear in recent years in the octagon. He seems to be getting better with each fight. After taking the strap from Strickland, he beat Adesanya via submission at UFC 305 to keep the belt. His second defense is this rematch at UFC 312
Looking at the tale of the tape, nearly 70% of Strickland’s wins have come by way of a decision. This indicates that although he has a high-pressure fighting style, he is not a big finisher.
On the other hand, Du Plessis has only let the judges decide in 25% of his fights. As mentioned, I think DDP is coming into his prime. Although their first fight was close, I don’t think this one will be.
