The 4-leg multi-bet contained two selections from Euro 2024 and two from the Copa America. The $62,034.74 wager started the two games from the Euros:
Denmark - Serbia (1x2 - Draw) odds 1.95
England - Slovenia (1x2 - Draw) odds 1.95
Looking at the bet slip, this wager was placed at 8:24 PM. I don’t know the timezone from which the bet was placed, but based on the odds (both 1.95), my experience indicates these matches were already in play.
With both Euro 24 matches finishing 0 - 0, the Stake.com customer was halfway there with his big bet. The Peru - Canada match was next. At odds of 2.23, this was the outside bet of the four.
After a goalless first half, Peru were reduced to ten men in the 59th minute when Araujo was shown a red card. The sending off gave Canada an advantage to attack more, and their efforts paid off on 74 minutes when Jonathan David scored the only goal of the match.
It was a 1 - 0 win for Team Canada, and three-quarters of the bet was sealed. The final selection was for Argentina to win against Chile. The price was 1.46, so this was effectively the banker.
Of course, sports betting is rarely that straightforward. As the minutes ticked by without any score, the cash-out value of the wager kept decreasing. With two minutes of normal time remaining, it looked like Chile would get a deserved point.
However, Lautaro Martinez popped up to score for Argentina. They held on for a 1 - 0 win, and the $768K soccer parlay bet was won.
