Things looked a bit nervy at the start, with Human Touch bringing up the rear with 800 meters to go. Ridden by Jake Bayliss, Human Touch started to pick up the pace, and he was nicely placed in 8th with 400 meters to go.

Being the lightest horse in the race appeared to help, as Bayliss asked for a kick home and Human Touch duly responded. As the winning post approached, Human Touch squeezed into 2nd place.
