What is SlotGPT?

SlotGPT is an innovative game developer that uses AI technology to generate video slots. Players enter text or speech prompts describing a slot’s theme, layout, and features, and the AI creates and publishes a fully playable slot game within minutes.

You can play these games in demo mode or with real money. From reviewing several titles that other players have generated, the RTP appears to be fixed at 96.0%, and the max win is always 5,000x your bet.

While AI tools have been used behind the scenes in game development, SlotGPT is the first player-facing system that allows everyday users to generate casino games themselves.

How SlotGPT Works

Using SlotGPT to create your own games is simple. The following steps guide you through the process.

Log in to your account. If you don’t have one, our Stake registration guide explains how to create an account, complete the KYC verification, and make a deposit.

Go to the Casino, select Only on Stake from the menu, and click on the SlotGPT thumbnail.

Ensure you are on Real Play, as you cannot create slots while in Fun Play mode.

2. Enter your prompt in the Generate New Slot box.

3. Click Generate Slot. The AI gets to work.

4. Within a minute or two, the slot will be ready. Click on its thumbnail to start playing.

Currently, each user is allowed to generate 55 slots. You can view the games you created by clicking on the My Generated tab in the menu.

What you can Customize

Players have control over multiple components when prompting the AI to build a slot; these include:

Theme and setting

Visual style (cartoon, realistic, retro, etc.)
Reels and rows (limitations apply)
Payline or cluster mechanics
Features such as wilds, multipliers, cascades, or free spins (limitations apply)

Detailed prompts produce noticeably better results.

What SlotGPT Controls Behind the Scenes

Players cannot adjust:

The RTP, which is capped at 96.0%
Volatility or variance of the slot games
Maximum win (capped at 5,000× your bet amount)

These controls ensure consistency, fairness, and regulatory alignment across all SlotGPT games.

Moderation, Safeguards, and Content Limits

SlotGPT includes automated moderation to block illegal, offensive, or copyrighted content. Games may be modified or removed if they violate platform rules.

It’s also important to note that although players generate the games, SlotGPT owns and operates them, so don’t expect a slice of the money the slot makes.

At the time of this SlotGPT review, there were over 28,000 games in the lobby. Some slots feel polished and engaging, while others are more generic. However, this comes down to the quality of the prompt, as I explain in the Hands-on Testing section.

Hands-On Testing: Creating Slots With SlotGPT

We tested SlotGPT by generating multiple slots with different:

Grid layouts
Feature sets
Visual styles
Gameplay mechanics

The goal was to evaluate the accuracy, stability, and overall playability of SlotGPT’s creations.

Prompt Test #1: Whispers of Georgian London

To start with, I went for something extremely simple. The prompt was, ‘Generate a slot with an 18th-century London theme.’

From my prompt, SlotGPT created Whispers of Georgian London. It is a 5-reel, 3-row slot with 9 paylines that is set in the streets of London, featuring symbols of clothing and other artefacts from the 18th century.

The game features regular wild symbols, free spins, sticky wilds, and a bonus game that offers multipliers, so there’s plenty of action in the base game and bonus rounds.

Prompt Test #2: Neon Fruit Frenzy

For my second slot, I prompted, ‘Generate a 3×3 retro fruit slot with neon visuals, classic symbols, and 5 paylines. No bonus round, instead, wild symbols should have multipliers to boost the payouts.’

This didn’t go as planned. SlotGPT delivered on the neon visuals and classic fruit theme, but the slot is 5x3, and it has the same in-game features as my first creation, Whispers of Georgian London.

Prompt Test #3: Mystic Cascade Adventure

Mystic Cascade Adventure was created by SlotGPT using this prompt, ‘Generate a slot that has a scatter pays (matching symbols) game mechanic with cascading reels that activate after a win. Include random multipliers in the base game and a free spins bonus round.’

Although not perfect, I was pleased with the outcome of this prompt. Mystic Cascade Adventure is a 7x7 slot with a cluster pays mechanic, not scatter pays as requested. However, it does feature cascading reels.

Players can trigger a bonus round and are awarded up to 20 free spins. During this feature, the Grid Multiplier becomes active. When a winning cluster is created, each winning position receives a +1 multiplier, so the payouts can be rather generous.

Prompt Test #4: Sweet Fortune Delights

For the next prompt, I chose to be as direct as possible. Here’s what I requested:

Slot Name: HugeStakes and Cakes
Theme: Cakes and Cash
Reels: 5
Rows: 5
Features: HugeStakes free spins game with global multiplier feature. Expanding Wilds

The AI got the theme spot on, but I wasn’t allowed to choose my own name for the slot. Also, as you can see, it is 7x7, not 5x5. Also, it’s another cluster pays game, and the free spins feature replicates my previous test slot, Mystic Cascade Adventure.

What SlotGPT Does Well — and Where it Falls Short

SlotGPT proved itself excellent at generating themes that matched my prompts, which means you can truly tailor the visual aspects of these games. It is also capable of integrating engaging bonus features from the most vague prompts.

Understandably, there are some shortcomings. Most slots are either 5x3, 6x6, or 7x7. My prompts for other layouts went unanswered. Also, the bonus features are generally the same. However, this is to be expected because the maths and RTP have been pre-programmed. Therefore, the AI likely runs a selection of models to ensure payouts are consistent.

Despite these limitations, I was entertained doing this SlotGPT review. It was cool playing games that you had a hand in creating. Furthermore, I am certain that as the AI becomes more advanced, players will be able to do more with their prompts.
